Boukje Strate passed away at 96 years with her family at her side sharing our stories of love and laughter. Boke enjoyed a good game of Bridge, Scrabble and winning at Crib, summers in the Kananaskis and traveling. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Marilyn Shannon (Darius Boucher) and Patty Parker; daughter-in-law, Sandi Strate; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; friend and sister-in-law, Joyce Wytsma; and a large extended family. Boke was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dee; son, Ron; and her three siblings, Dick, Ted and Hilda.
We would like to thank the kind, caring staff at the Father Lacombe Nursing Home and the Rockyview Hospital, Unit 73. A Family Celebration will follow at a later date.
A beautiful message to remember Grandma with. I remember afternoons spent with Grandma at her house while Grandpa was "resting his eyes", stew and mints, Saskatoon berries, crosswords, back scratches and storytelling, and the wonderful times with the whole family. All our love to you in Calgary, and to Grandma.
