HUNT, James "Jim" Edward
Jim was born and raised in Mayerthorpe, AB to Ed and Ruth Hunt and was the second oldest of twelve children. Jim started his career as a truck driver with his father’s gravel company before moving his growing family to Calgary where he worked for Orlick Transport for 15 years. He went on to work for Westfreight Systems traveling Canada and the US extensively. Jim took a small break from trucking before returning to the industry with his brother’s company, BLH Trucking. Jim finished his career with Westfreight Systems. Jim enjoyed his time with family and close friends fishing and camping. His favourite past time was cooking BBQ and no one ever left hungry when spending time with him and Lily.
He leaves his wife and soul mate of 46 years, Lily (Pimm) Hunt; daughter, Jody Tanner and her spouse, Tony; son, Jesse Hunt and his spouse, Renee; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren as well as several close family and friends.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at the Sundre Community Center, #3 – 96 2nd Avenue NE, Sundre, AB on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to:

I am so very sorry to hear the passing of Uncle Jim. My thoughts go out to all of you Hunts during this time of grief. I have so many amazing memories of the time we spent together, from playing with the craw fish, to him trapping me on the floor and pretending to drop his teeth on me, to watching him eat corn on the cob every September long camping trip! My condolences to "TractorJim's" family. Warm memories of Working with Jim at Bucars. He always ate lunch with us girls and was quite the tease but we were just as witty. He was well loved by us and we loved when he brought in his BBQ sauce and Lily's banana bread. He always made sure to bring a second chocolate pudding with him for Stephanie as she always wanted his lol. He was a great man and will be an awesome angel :) ~ Lori MacKinnon
