Elizabeth Ethel Huggins

March 2nd, 2023

Our dear sweet Mum, Wife, Auntie, Elizabeth Ethel Huggins (nee Williams) passed peacefully at the age of 73 on March 2nd following a brief illness.  Born in Birtle, Manitoba on November 9, 1949, Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents Edwin & Ella Williams.  She is survived by her loving partner Nick Mahovlich, children Carl (Christa), Lesley (Jeff), grand-daughter Cassidy, stepchildren Jeremy (Dawn) and Barb, sisters Helen (Randy), Jean (Hugh), brothers Allan (Lenore), Ken (Francis) and Ray (Betty-Anne), former spouse David Huggins (Laraine) and sister-in-law Kim Pullen, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She loved her fur-baby Smokey-Bear and her garden full of beautiful roses and flowers, all the big fat robins, bees, bunnies, and other critters that came to visit.  Prior to moving to Ruby Creek, Elizabeth spent many years working for the Richmond School Board and at the lotto booth in Lansdowne Mall where she was known for always having flowers in her hair.  Most recently she was active in the community working and volunteering at many events at the local Save On Foods in Hope, BC.

Her big personality and huge smile touched many people including all the extra kids at the house who needed a hug, seniors needing comfort and even random strangers needing kindness.  Her beautiful soul and bright light was taken from us much too soon.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Mum’s name to the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society who took amazing care of her and the family in the final days or your local SPCA.

You were a formidable woman, a loving mother, and caring friend. May you rest in peace and know that although gone, you will never be forgotten.

It was with heavy heart that we heard of the passing of Auntie Liz. Know that our thoughts are with you. Patricia was my Mom and she spoke of Liz often while she was still with us.

Rest Now, Life's work is Done. We will meet in God's morning.
