Sheila Lou Gaspar

On Sunday February 5th, 2023, Sheila Lou Gaspar, a loving Nanny (Grandmother), Mother, Sister, Wife, and Friend, passed away at the age of 88. Sheila passed away the day after her 88th birthday, which she spent surrounded by her loved ones. Her son and daughter-in-law, Chris, and Cheryl. Her Granddaughter and granddaughter-in-law Alysse and Tara and her great grandchildren Sydon and Calliope.
Sheila was born February 4th, 1935, in Ontario where she grew up with her father and Mother, Howard and Violet Prosser (predeceased) and her sister Verna Toth (Prosser).
Sheila went to Hairdressing School in 1949 where she completed the course with honours and went on to work at a Beauty Salon where she supervised 24 women and their assignments. Sheila had many other interesting jobs over the years.
On December 9th, 1954, Sheila was married to Frank Walter Gaspar. They were married for 69 years. They had three sons, Christopher, Colin (predeceased) and Troy.
Sheila was an amazing Nanny to her grandchildren (Alysse, Katelyn, Tyler, and Lauren) and great grandchildren (Sydon and Calliope). Who will miss her greatly and cherish the many memories they had together like going to the movies, sleepovers, eating chocolate pudding, and hours spent on the phone together. Sheila loved her family, her farm, her friends, her dog Charlie, and her church where she was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked hard everyday of her life and her strength, love and determination was felt by all that were blessed enough to know her. She will be dearly missed by all.

Sheila was a very strong and amazing lady. She taught me a lot. We had some great laughs and conversations. She will be in my thoughts forever. Love and miss you Sheila ❤️
I was fortunate to be blessed to got to know Sheila. I was one of the care aide that was lucky enough to spend the time to get to know her. Loving women she was, talked highly of her family. She took great care always making sure her husband was taking care of. Beautiful person , loved her like family. RIP she was so good to everyone around her. Will be missed but not forgotten❤
Heaven got another wonderful angel when Sheila left us. Alvin was always so grateful for her help with his boys when they lived there. She always said Alvin was like her kid brother, and was so happy he found me. We're so very sad she's gone. We are so sorry for your loss Chris and Troy
So sad to hear about Aunt Sheila. I have many great memories of her. I spent my summer of grade 10 working on their berry farm and so enjoyed spending this time with her. She was the only one that ever called me Jenny and I will always cherish her and the fun times!
Aunt Sheila was a lot of fun. I remember as a child going fishing in the ocean with her and Uncle Frank and digging for clams. Our children enjoyed our visit to the farm drinking Aunt Sheila’s smoothies, chasing emus and riding their scooters down the shady lane in front of their home.
She was an amazing example of a hard worker woman. With great faith in God she was always determined to accomplish anything. She was a very loving person who will be greatly missed. Everth Vidal and Family
Sheila and I shared the title of “grandma “ and the joy that goes with loving our grandchildren. But I got more than that…I got a wonderful friend. I so appreciated her serene approach to life. My sincere condolences to the family.
Sheila was my dearest friend for almost 40 years and my Sister Linda's before me. She was the best example of a true Christian I've ever known. I will miss her dearly. My condolences to her family.
