Sending our deepest condolences to the the entire Murray family. We have such fond memories of Ed over the years. He will be missed by all who's lives he touched.

I am saddened that I am unable to attend this celebration of the life of my father, Ed Murray. I am wheelchair bound, unable to travel. Following my half year stay in ICU last year, my father and I grew closer than we had ever been. I will cherish the conversations we had, ending only when it became too painful for him to speak. He and Mom helped me buy a nice used wheelchair, increasing my mobility. We began collaboration on having an old truck fixed up that he and I had picked up together from a dealership years ago. I had done a great deal of rehab in hospital to learn how to drive it again. He worked out a way to get the wheelchair on and off the back. I was unable to drive more than short distances when he told me of his imminent passing. A few weeks later, he was gone. What he taught me in his last year was the fact of resiliency and sheer survival. In his long life, he survived many impossibly difficult situations. His lasting gift to me was to show me that a small thing, in this case an old truck, can be used as a focal point to hold onto, learning to stand up yet one more time. My father was the epitome of a man who survived astounding adversity in his near century of life. I am sure I am not the only one who will carry this, and many other memories of my father, forever.
