FRANCIS, Kyle David

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kyle David Francis on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the young age of 34. Kyle is lovingly remembered by the love his life, Karley; his children and pride and joy, Abigail Bridget and Lincoln Mathew. Along with his mom and his rock, Cathy and Tom; his dad, Dave; his favourite sister-in-law, Tarah; and many other family and friends.

Kyle had the natural ability to chat with anyone and he made an impact on everyone he met. His love for life was just as infectious as his laugh. Kyle was very passionate about his Rugby, from playing in high school to continuing his love for the game in Airdrie. Kyle tried to recruit anyone he felt he could share his passion with. He was always eager to coach and mentor everyone in the game. Kyle will be very loved and missed in the Rugby community.

A Celebration of Life will be held in both Alberta and Ontario at later dates. A Go Fund Me page has been created for his family.

Kyle I will forever remember you. Only knew you for half a year but the impact you've made is greater than the time I've known you. You were truly a strong spirit. We worked together, but most times it never felt like we actually got anything done because we got along so well. One of the funnest and funniest person to ever work with, will never forget that contagious laugh of yours. It was shocking to find out about your passing, my heart will forever have a place reserved for you my dear friend. Rest in peace.

Kyle was a magnet for smiles and laughter. His passion for people and rugby was an inspiration to those around him. His spark has been lost, but not in our memory. Our deepest sympathies to Karley, his children, and his family.

There are just no words to express how truly sorry we are for your loss Cathy and Tom. Just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers

Kyle was awesome. The definite characteristic of what "awesome" is. My view of Kyle was he saw all as equal, and he made the world a better place. Absolutely no judgment from him and he was friends with everyone. When life got messy, he was there with a hug and squeeze, saying things to make me laugh. I was comforted by his reassurance when he would say "its going to be okay." I wish I had pictures, but good memories are what I've kept. My heart may have broke some when I heard the news. Kyle was a person that filled those gaps with his laughter and heartfelt personality. The kind of person that makes this world brighter. I would have consider myself lucky if I had gotten to know him more, like some of you did. And for those that were close to him, I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to the family, sincerely to his wife and children. Kyle was a good guy. He was truly awesome and he will be missed.

Sharing in your sorrow Cathy and Tom at this very sad time, keeping you both in thoughts and prayers

Cathy & Tom, Karley & Kids & other family members - Words can not be found to express our sadness. You are all in our prayers and Kyle is looking out for each and everyone of you. Virtual HUGS!

I met Kyle 2 years ago, when the highlanders were trying to start a men’s team. I showed up at a school, where there was maybe 4 or 5 of us. Even though the numbers didn’t look good to host a team, he had this vision that it could be possible. In fact they did make it happen the next year, but unfortunately got shut down with COVID. He was a great leader and friend to me. I had the pleasure of meeting him and his beautiful family. They welcomed me into their home. He was the kind of guy that I could call up anytime and talk about anything with. Although I didn’t know him for long, I feel like we were close. He was just that kind of person. He will be greatly missed.

As I did not know kyle, I have known cathy since high school in the states. I know she is a wonderful person and MOM. it certainly shows in all that's being said of her son Kyle. Rest in peace Kyle, you were loved by many.

Had the pleasure of your company on and off the field at the Highlanders, sad sad news. Condolences to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing you brother. RIP mate

I used to work with Kyle. He had a great love of life and adored his family. He was an all around awesome person. I am so sorry this happened.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Kyle was a friend of mine in highschool and although I haven't seen him in years, I'll always remember his friendly, good natured attitude to everyone he met. Everyone loved Kyle. My deepest, most heartfelt condolences to Kyle's family and friends.

I am at a loss for words, we knew each other through work in Calgary, but what a pleasure it was every time we meet up and had a chat. I am so sorry for your loss, he truly made me smile even when I thought I couldn’t. Rest In Peace my friend.

Devastating news! One of my true long term friends over all my years in Canada loved going to work when you were on site buddy and having a “couple” beers at the Cru! Saturday will always be a rugby day! Rest in peace brother!

Beyond sad hearing of Kyle's passing. I've known this sweetheart since he was a wee kid. He was one of my son Tony's best buddies when they were kids. They went to Camp Mini-o-we together and we had the pleasure of taking him to Myrtle Beach, SC when they were in high school. He kept us laughing as he was a very funny kid. He will be very missed. Last time I saw him was when he came to Mike and Crystal's wedding and it was a just like old times. Still trying to process his passing. My condolences to his mom Cathy and his dad Dave and of course to all of the rest of his family and loved ones. He left an impact on anyone who met him. RIP Kyle xoxo

“How lucky we all are, to have had something to make saying goodbye so hard” Adios amigo & many thanks for all the laughs.

Kyle you were such an amazing person with wo much love to give. Always the light and laugh in the room, the one people looked forward to seeing at a gathering. Your laugh will forever be heard when I hear your name and remind me of all the hilarious and stupid things we did together. Lifes not going to be the same without you, miss you so much. Until we meet again my friend, rest in paradise.
