Miriam Louise Dreher

Miriam Louise Dreher (formerly Soroka) went Home into the loving arms of her Lord on Sunday, September 26, 2021. She lived a hard but full life and enjoyed performing with her yodeling andplaying guitar. She single handedly coordinated and performed Yodel fest in Airdrie for 11 years until her 80th birthday. She adored her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Judy Soroka (Lyall George), Joy Suitor (Steve Suitor); daughter-in-law, Wendy; many grandchildren, many more great-grandchildren; brother, Laurin Dreher; nieces and nephews, many cousins and her 101 yr old Aunt, Mary. Miriam was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Emma Dreher; her beloved son, Dale Soroka; and her brother, Albert Dreher.

Our sincere heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dawes and other physicians and staff of Unit 44 PLC for their kind compassionate care of Mom - Judy and Joy.

A private family Celebration of Miriam’s Life will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel at Centre Street Church Central Campus, 3900 2nd Street NE Calgary, Alberta. Due to the current provincial health restrictions, only family will be able to attend the Celebration. The Service will be live-streamed at: cschurch.ca/Dreher

Dear Family! I was going thru some old Senior Papers today from 2013 and Miriam’s picture popped up in the Milestones Section telling of her Queens Medal! Wondered if she was still with us! Sadly found that she had passed! I met her thru my sister (Jan Patterson-Levi) many years ago! Attended Yodelfest and Concerts! Very talented, caring, sweet Lady! I am so deeply sorry for your Loss! She is singing with the Angels now!

My deepest condolences to Miriam's family. I just found out. She was a wonderful person and a dear friend of my families. She had give voice lessons to my son Cody when he was around 10. He even performed on stage at a couple of the yodel fests with Miriam. She will be dearly missed.

I have just noticed Mariam's passing. I have played several concerts with her including Airdre's Yodel fest. She had a lot of energy and was very well liked. My prayers go out to family, you will be missed. Neil

I'm am so sorry to learn of Miriam's passing, I had the utmost pleasure attending many Yodel fest's in our City. My most sincere condolences are extended to Miriam's family.

I am very sorry to learn of Miriam's passing. My sincere condolences to all the family. I knew Miriam through the Over 50 Club in Airdrie where we both sang in the Melody Makers. I also had the pleasure of attending one of her yodeling concerts. She was a fabulous entertainer. Miriam was always friendly and cheerful. She was always willing to stop for a chat when our paths crossed while out and about. Miriam was a truly lovely lady!

So sorry for your loss! Miriam was an angel. She came to my parents 50th Anniversary and sang a few songs for Rodger and Alice. She will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. Gone, but never forgotten

Miriam was a friend for many years from childhood. She will be missed.

Glen and I met Miriam years ago through her neighbours, Jean and Dale Flett. Since then we attended her concerts in Airdrie and she sang at Glen’s 80th. Birthday, even yodelling with Glen for one song! We have been in contact through Facebook the last few years. I will miss her. Condolences to the family.

I have been a fan of Miriam's music for many years. She was a talented musician, a beautiful Christian lady and always upbeat and optimistic to talk to. My sympathy to all the family. I loved knowing you Miriam.

I've only just heard of Miriam's passing. So very sorry for your loss. She was a lovely lady, a fellow musician. I only just bought 2 more of her cds this year. So glad I got them. Sending our sincere condolences. Gus and Karren Churchill
