SHORT, William Herbert "Bill"

February 24, 1934 - March 30, 2019

It is with deep sadness that the family of Bill Short announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the age of 85 years.

Bill was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the eldest of four children. He had a lifelong passion for horses, their breeding and raced them right into 2018.  Bill also loved the game of hockey, on and off the ice, always eager to share an interesting story when he played in his younger years. In 2009  he was so proudly inducted into the Manitoba Hockey Hall of fame. Bill’s wife Iva also shares this passion and together for 31 years there was not a season that was missed or talked about in great detail.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years Iva; children, Allan, Cindy; step children, Brenda (Rob), Kevin (Fiona), Greg (Corrie), Dawna (Dave); brother, Jim (Jeri); daughters-in-law,  Ollie, Irene; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Bill was the proud Grandpa to seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his children; Billy, Gary and Janice.

A special thank you to all at the NE Calgary Hemodialysis Centre and Unit 48 at the Peter Lougheed Centre for their excellent care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Bill will be held at a later date. Details will be posted on www.myalternatives.ca
