David Bruce Loosley

Born in Woodstock, Ontario, David lived in Langley with his wife, Jorgina, for the last 50 years.
In recent years, David was an avid curler and lawn bowler. Always quite active, as a younger man David enjoyed exploring the local mountains on multi day hiking trips. He went up the Black Tusk several times and hiked the West Coast Trail in the early 1980s. In the summer of 1987, Dave and wife Jorgina walked the entire coastline of Greater Vancouver from Port Moody to UBC.
David devoted hours to volunteer interests during his life. He was treasurer for his local union chapter, his housing strata, and Penny Pincher - a local thrift store. He also officiated at quite a few Special Olympic games through the years. His community mindedness could also be seen in his attendance at many, many Langley walks.
A lover of all thing’s tech, David was usually well ahead of the curve in adopting new technology. Not only was he likely the first on his block to have a robotic vacuum cleaner, but he was maybe one of the first in Langley to have a home computer. His Vic 20 had 5 KB of RAM (a typical cell phone now has 2,000,000 KB by comparison, as Dave would have happily told you).
He is survived by wife Jorgina, stepdaughter Dahlia, grandson Malachite, sisters Nancy and Judy, and nieces Kim and Khia.

Jorgina we are deeply saddened by the loss of your dear husband David. We will always remember his smiles, jokes, love of curling and lawn bowling. Even our dogs loved David so much. They knew he would give them extra scratches and plenty of love. Keeping you and your family in our thoughts and our prayers.
Dear Jorgina First of all Trudy and I would like to express our deepest condolences for the loss of your dear husband. Just incase you don't remember us, we had the pleasure of sharing a table with you at the Fleetwood Mac tribute concert at the curling Centre. It was such a pleasure meeting you and getting to know David a little more. Like you we will all miss him.
I curled with David . I will miss him dearly. Always smiling always willing to help rest in peace my friend.

I only knew David through curling, but always found his good nature and friendliness a great complement to the enjoyable social activity that we shared. I will sadly miss him.
We will miss David in many ways. He was a wonderful, kind and caring man always willing to help with whatever was asked of him. An inspiration to others. We are so glad David entered our lives and thank his family for sharing him with us. Our condolences go out to each of his family. Remember to talk of David much and often with a big smile on your face as he would often have on his. When David smiled his eyes also smiled. David will be missed greatly by us and many that had the pleasure to know him. And not to forget we will miss his tech advice and his honest views on the matters of the day, if asked. One would have to search high and low to find such an honorable person as David was.

I foundly remember my Uncle David as the playful, fun loving uncle. I’m glad my family and I got to see him on our last family trip to BC. Rest in peace Uncle David. Glad you are not in pain anymore XOXO
I am very sorry for your loss. I am the daughter of Woodrow and Grace Campbell. I met Dahlia when she resided in Edmonton a few years ago. I do remember you, visiting the farm when, you were a young teenager. Times have past by.
Always liked David's sense of humor. We will miss him !
David was very thoughtful and protective when we were young and, he was quick to smile and very positive. I looked up to him and I think of him each and every day.
