Deborah Joyce Palmer

November 6th, 2021

Loving memory of Deborah Joyce Palmer

Debb was born full of energy and love on July 13, 1955 in Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan. She sadly passed away on November 6, 2021 at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, Regina, Saskatchewan after a battle with cancer, which she showed such amazing strength and courage during a 2-year fight.

She was predeceased by her parents Sidney (Sid) and Florence (Freda) Palmer and her brother Barry Palmer. Debb is survived by her son Dean Bourgeois; daughter Amber Parent; her brother Terry (Diane) Palmer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews along with an amazing bunch of friends including her very best friend in life Sandi who is the final holder of many secrets. The list goes on and on as Debb welcomed so many into her heart.

She grew up on the family farm in Porcupine Plain where she enjoyed her childhood and farm life. Debb lived many places throughout the years and started her family in 1977. Eventually she settled down in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1988. Anyone who knows Debb will tell you her children have always been her most cherished gifts. Her children were her pride and joy. She gifted them with her amazing energy and will be greatly missed by them. Dean and Amber were not the only people who referred to Debb as Mom as she adopted many souls along her way. She spent fifteen plus years in the health district starting as a nursing aide and finishing in the field with a certificate in physical activity studies (adapted). She then started her business Beadplus in 2005 where she found the desire to learn holistic healing. She studied in reiki and natural healing methods. Her business allowed her to travel where she would find amazing products and great contacts in the industry. Debb was gifted with helping people. She always had the right words at the right time when they needed to hear it. She was known for her quotes to tell you to let go and move forward in many different ways!

Debb was so amazing and often had to be reminded she needed to keep some of her wonderful advice for herself as she was such a giver! She touched everyone she was in contact with personally and deeply. Debb was so wise beyond her years of life. People sought her out for her wisdom and advice as her energy was addictive and welcoming. It was Debb’s passion to learn and teach everyone to find their inner peace and their own path. As we all know “energy never dies” and Debb’s energy was so enormous we all know she will live on in so many hearts and minds of all those who loved her.

We will be honoring Debb with a small intimate service and a memorial video at a later date.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to Dr. Laura Stark ND for research and development at Thrive Naturopathic, 325 Victoria Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan S4N 0P5 or the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca)

Messages:

Amber and Dean. Deb was such a beautiful soul. The world has lost a wonderful person. I know you will hold on to the memories and lessons she has taught you.

Debbie was a strong lady when it came to provide for her children. I first met her in a small-town. She was a hairdresser there and a waitress. When she moved to the city I met up with her at Wascana as she began as a nurse then she worked at Regina General before she had her own business with the beads store. She opened her home to me twice when I had no where to go. She was such a blessing and always had a great time when we would get together. She will be missed! My condolences to Amber, Dean and Deb's brother Terry.s

Debb shone like her many crystals. She was the positivity in any storm. Her love for her children is unending. Debb will be missed deeply by many. A part of her will remain with us always. My deepest condolences to Amber and Dean and the rest of her family and friends.

Debbie was one of the first people I worked with as a nursing student and as she grew up with my mom was so kind to me and I felt so lucky to have her there for my first practicum. Later on her folks moved in next door in Porcupine to mine. And we were able to get close to them as well. Just so saddened to hear this news, she truly was the kindest lady.

I remember her working at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre a number of years ago. Sorry to the Palmer family. She worked on 35-36 if I remember it right.

Debbie will be missed by all who knew her. She had great talents & a great spirit. I’m honoured to have crossed paths with her both at wascana rehab & beads plus.

To Deb's family, we are so sorry for your loss. Deb taught both of us so much over the years. We enjoyed every visit. It was our pleasure to bring her stones and Crystals when we went to Brazil. It won't be the same without her .

My condolences, Amber and Dean, on the loss of your mother. I first met Debb when she worked in the hospital so many years ago and then I followed her from one Beadplus store to another (and another). I am so grateful she came into my life. If God works through people, and I believe He does, she was an angel on earth. And her spirit is with us all.

Debbie and i spent alot of Sundays together after church with our families .We went to School together at Blightyl.and Weekes .Debbie always had a smile on her face that made you smile too.I tried for a couple of years to contact her. Deepest condolences to Amber and Dean. I know Deb was your rock. There is no one Deb loved more than her children, i had the privilege of spending time with Deb and family for many years and since I've moved to NS, I've asked after her. I regret not finding her…we always think we have more time. Rest in peace my friend.

I send out love and support and healing to Deb‘s family in your time of grieving. Dab was a wonderful lady and always made time for everybody even if you were a little bit different. I am a healer like she was.. I remember all the wonderful conversations we had at the golden mile in the beginning of that store…beads plus was her baby… a place where Deb brought our community together! It was a place of joy and learning, peace and laugh. She leaves a legacy of love laughter healing and creativity behind her. I know wherever she is she’s off with the Angels probably looking down on us breathing easy and loving her new found freedom in her spirit body. I believe we never die .. we just change… she’s passed through the tunnel of death the doorway of time to a place of endless peace… she’s free now. May flights of angels take you to your rest and may you find yourself at peace in the beyond …we will see you again! Sending you love wherever you are Deb.

Your smile, energy and wisdom will be missed. Rest well Debb. Deepest sympathy to your beautiful family.

Deb was an earth Angel! She contacted me one day to help with a fundraiser for our holistic daycare. She was so kind, loving and full of joy. It was such a pleasure to meet her and share her passions. You will now be an Angel in the sky watching over us!
