ZACHER (nee Walz), Mary Leona Margaret

Mary Leona Margaret Zacher (Walz), age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2014, at Foothills Hospital in Calgary. She was born August 21, 1934, in Choiceland,SK to Leo and Meta (Learmonth) Walz. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Donald Walz and husband's, Reinhardt Zacher and John Scott, the father of her four children.

She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, enjoying her onion and cheese sandwiches, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granchildren. Mother Mary is survived by her children and their spouses, Donna and Nat, Brent and Debbie, Robert and Cheryl, Janet and Kevin; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Mary touched are invited to a Funeral Service at Robert-McClure United Church, 5510 26 Ave NE, Calgary, AB on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00 am, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat.

Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, 6007 – 1A Street SW, Calgary, AB, T2H 0G5.  The family would like to extend utmost gratitude to staff at the Calgary Foothills  Intensive Care and Kidney units for their attentiveness and loving care.
