WOLLBAUM, Margarete (Marg)

Margarete (Marg) Wollbaum of Didsbury, Alberta passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the age of 59 years. Marg was born in Calgary on January 16, 1955. She married her high school sweetheart, Ric on August 4, 1973 and together they raised their two sons. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 41 years and their sons, Derek (fiancé, Samantha) and Ian (partner, Cleolette); sisters, Evelyn Ann (Brian) Seymour, Linda Carolina Belenczuk; brother, Jonathan Michael (Lisa) Belenczuk; brother-in-law, Jeffrey John (Lori) Wollbaum. Marg is also survived by her mother and best friend, Irene Belenczuk; in-laws, Paul and Agnes Wollbaum; and grandmother, Karolina Gaberdiel; nieces, Emily (Mike), Christina (Mike), Roxanne (Patrick); nephew, Steven (Danielle); 4 grand nephews, Brody, Lincoln, Connor and Tanner; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, the Ukraine and Germany. She was predeceased by her father, Mike Belenczuk in November of 1993.

A Celebration of Marg’s Life will be held at the Marlborough Community Centre, 636 Marlborough Way NE, Calgary, AB on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please “PAY IT FORWARD” in Marg’s memory. Any act of kindness you can bestow on another, stranger or friend, please don’t hold back.

Marg, was more than family, she was also a great and dear friend. You became family when you married my cousin Ric, but became much more than family. We raised our children together. Ric, derek, Ian and (marg mom) I want to begin by saying that I've know marg for over so many years and in those many plus years she is a warm, generous person who thought of others over herself. My mother was/is a one of a kind. Generous, forgiving, kind, out going, very memorable and truly wise. Ive learned many valuable life skills, values. Ma's teachings are still strong with me to this day. Her passion and perfectionism in her hobbies pushed me to excell at my own hobbies. I will miss the talks with her when i was down and needed an ear or a reality check. Trimming the hedges (graveyard) because the wasps would freak her out. Ill miss her morning pictures of spiderwebs, owls or grouse. I miss her laugh and funny giggle, her serious tone when saying "Derek" and miss her pulling my ear when needed and sharing a bottle of wine on family dinners and getting a lil funny. I could go on and on. She touched many lives and has many great freinds that im proud of. She truly was a one of a kind special woman.
