It is with great sorrow that the family of Warren Wilson announces that he has suddenly returned home to be with the Lord on September 27, 2011.
Warren is survived by his wife and best friend of 38 years; Karolina “Lynne” (Rau), his mother Hazel Herd of White Rock, BC; sister Wendy Grace (Steven) of WA, USA; step-brother-in-law Murray Alaric of Oliver, BC; daughter Olivia Blum (Steven) of Olds; sons John (Sara-Mae) of Calgary, Matthew (Erin) of Caroline, George (Candace) of Carstairs; grandchildren Elizabeth, Noah, Anna, Chloe, Alexander, Joey, Haley, Leah and Matthew as well as many brothers and sisters- in-law; nieces and nephews. Warren was pre-deceased by his father John Edwin Wilson; step-father David Herd and step-sister Dianne Alaric.
Warren was born July 8, 1952 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He attended school in Moose Jaw and Edmonton. He pursued various careers in retail management, construction and agriculture around Alberta. He owned a small business with his wife in High Prairie, AB. Warren’s passion was his personal relationship with his Saviour Jesus Christ. Since moving to Olds last year Warren and family call Word of Life - Mountain View Church, home. He was a wonderful and supportive husband and son, fantastic father, loving grandpa and faithful friend to anyone in need. His loss will be deeply mourned by his family.
A Memorial was held at First Baptist Church, 5005 – 53 Avenue, Olds, Alberta on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 3:00 pm. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home of Hope Mission, c/o Word of Life Church, 4410 - 47 Avenue, Olds, Alberta, T4H 1A2.
