George "Mark" Wellens passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the age of 44 years. Mark, as he was known to family, was born in Calgary on September 4, 1970. Mark attended school in Calgary and worked at the North East Superstore for over twenty years. Mark is survived by his mother, Marilyn; brother, Chris; aunts, Judy Norton and Carol Wellens-Stuby; aunts and uncles, Louise & Jim Smith and Donna & Larry Lindemann; as well as cousins and many other relatives. He was predeceased by his dad, George "Ted" Edward William Wellens.

A Come & Go Celebration of George's Life will be held at the Marlborough Community Hall, 636 Marlborough Way NE, Calgary, AB on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

I met Mark (George) many years ago we became close he was my friend, and will be dearly missed, he became part of my life and my family life for many years, watch my girls grow up, he was a great friend, and I have a lot of good memories of him in my life as well as wedding pics as he was a groomsman in my wedding, rest in piece my friend,
