I met Cliff when we entered the military in 1982. We flew to Halifax together, went through basic training, were posted together in London, Borden, and Edmonton. After I left the military and moved back to Calgary for post secondary education, we ran into each other, again. He stayed with me during his initial return to Calgary in the early 1990s. Unfortunately, after relocated to the North, we lost contact. My memories of our friendship and camaraderie during out military days will resonate with me throughout the rest of my life. We had some wonderful experiences, learned a great deal, and grew up together as soldiers. A gentile giant of a man. ~ James Umpherson
