Warren Conley

It is with profound sadness the family of Warren Conley announce his passing after a short illness on April 8, 2025 in Regina, SK. Warren was predeceased by his father Van and his brother Bruce. Left to treasure his memory are his wife Romina; daughter Valentina; mother Mary; mother in law Teresa, father in law Oswaldo, his brother Doug (Bonnie); nephews Christopher and Derek (Sarah).
Warren was born and raised in Regina His elementary school at St Peter's and high school at O'Neil High. He began music lessons at the age of 6 years at the ABC Music Academy. He started gymnastics at the age of 10.
After graduating high school in 1982, he took part in a life-changing gymnastics exchange to Germany. He decided his life had to be dedicated to gymnastics and movement. Warren began training under the renowned Keith Russell. In 1989 he become the assistant coach for the University of Saskatchewan’s Huskies Gymnastics team. In 1989 he received his kinesiology degree from U of S and moved to Montreal, where he became a key figure in the early days of Cirque du Soleil. His artistic vision and athletic brilliance shaped many of the early productions, and in 1992 he began touring the world with Saltimbanco, one of Cirque’s most iconic shows.
As head coach he worked on creation and presentation of Cirque du Soleil’s Saltimbanco, Luzia, Alegria, Nouvelle Experience, KA in Las Vegas, Zaia in Macao, House of Dancing Water (Dragon) Macao, writing and designing a new creation for Circo Florilegio a company that would come to Brazil.
In his role as head acrobatic coach he took the Cirque du Soleil Chinese pole team to perform on the 1993 Grammy awards with Jay Leno.
In 2018 Warren returned to Regina to settle with his family, bringing his deep knowledge, passion, and warmth back to the local gymnastics community. He took on the role of MAG Head Coach at the Queen City Gymnastics Club and joined the Board of Directors at Gymnastics Saskatchewan. Warren has inspired countless athletes, coaches, artists, and dreamers throughout his extraordinary career.
His creativity, generosity, and quiet leadership have touched every corner of the gymnastics and circus world.
Warren loved traveling, the Cirque took him to a multitude of locations throughout the world, and he would then tour extensively anytime his schedule would permit. His many stories of his adventures throughout the world were numerous ,exciting and too far to many to mention here!
In his free time he achieved numerous PADI dive certifications including Dive Master, Rescue Diver, and specialty gas certifications for deep dives.
A celebration of Warren's life will be held on May 10th at The Double Tree Hotel,1975 Broad Street in the Capital Ballroom, from 7 – 11 pm. At Warren's request, Valentina's band, Zig Zag will be featured, playing a selection of music that Warren loved. Special guests Tequila 306 will also perform in memory of Warren.

We are all so very sorry for your loss. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you. We are so glad we got to see Warren and family over the last few years when he returned to Regina and got to meet his beautiful wife and daughter. That is a beautiful obituary for a wonderful man.
