Frances Laura Wald

On May 26, 2012, Frances Laura Wald passed away at the age of 86 years. She spent many happy years in Carstairs. She is survived by her daughter Judy (Wally) Kozakewich, sons Terry (Beverley) Wald, Gordon (Debbie) Wald and Gary (Jane Wald), daughter-in-law Angie, her sister Yvonne (Orley) Campbell, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren as well as many very dear extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband Joe, son Donald, nephew Ryan, parents, and 7 siblings.

A Celebration of Frances’ life will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Half Century Club, 1139 Osler Street in Carstairs Alberta.

Heartfelt thanks go out to the staff at the Chinook Winds Lodge for their wonderful care and support.

I met Frances many, many years ago when i was in Iode We stayed friends. Even when i moved to Edmonton, Frances would call me when she would come up to stay with her family. When i moved back to Didsbury, and ran the Iode Christmas sale, she would put all the things to sell into her garage for me for safe keeping. When i quit Iode we still remained friends over the years and would either meet for coffee, or talk on the phone. The last time i saw her she was in the Didsbury hospital just before she moved into the lodge. I will miss her. I never did get to speak to her one last time or visit her one last time either.I was involved in another move again to Innisfail and was so busy at the time. She was a very kind and special lady and i, like everyone will miss her a lot. My deepest sympathy is extended to you all, at this time God Bless!
