It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, Gampie, uncle, great-uncle and friend, Reginald (Charlie) Joseph Wagman on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
Born November 19, 1944, Reg was raised on the family’s dairy farm at St. Joseph’s Colony, SK. He completed his schooling at Campion College in Regina, SK. The post office, as a letter carrier, was his first place of employment. During that time he walked many, many miles in Regina. In 1971 he returned to the dairy to take over operation with his brother Roy. Together with their wives, they raised their families and milked many cows. It was time for a change in 1984 when the brothers sold the dairy farm and went to work off the farm. This saw Reg share his gift of customer service in many forms. He spent many years at Western Feeds/Cowtown where he was happy sharing his knowledge of animals and animal health with farmers.
Reg had many loves in his life; most important was his family, especially his 2 grandchildren. He loved watching Ainsley swim, and without question, lost the race he challenged her to. He also lost the skating challenge to Cohen on the ice. After these losses, he resumed his place as their biggest cheerleader from near and far. He loved sports, all sports, but especially football. He was known far and wide as a Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan and took every opportunity to harass any Rider fan he could find!!
Reg is survived by his loving wife Elaine, daughter Tracey (Troy) Burnett of Camrose, AB, grandchildren Ainsley and Cohen Burnett. He is also survived by his brothers Ernie (Pat), Roy (Doreen), and Jim (Linda). Reg had many nieces and nephews, most who appreciated his humour and the nicknames he made for them. These nieces and nephews went and had children and these special kids also received his love of nicknames.
Reg was predeceased by his parents Frank and Helen Wagman and his sister Irene Forster.
A community gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, please make a donation to the Regina General Hospital Foundation. Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services have been entrusted with arrangements.
