Terrence Michael Voisin, 80 years of age, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in the Bethany Care Center Calgary after having a light supper and retiring for the evening.

Terrence was born on October 1, 1940 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to the late Charles and Mary Voisin. He was the third of six siblings.

He is remembered by his sons, Kurt (Renée) and Sean (Margrit), Kevin and Justin, his adopted daughter Anissa, his big sister, Cynthia, younger brothers Herman and Joey, and close family and friends. Terrence is predeceased by his parents, older brother Lloyd and his younger sister Joslyn.

In 1970, Terrence immigrated to Toronto, Canada. He later became a dual Canadian and Trinidadian citizen. He lived and worked in Toronto until he retired in 2006. This Canadian citizen was made from genuine Trini parts. He loved his beloved Trinidad, its culture, its music and cuisine - a good calypso, a good carnival jump up and a good roti.

Fondly known as Pops to a few and Uncle Terry to many, Terrence was a gentle soul, with a great sense of humour and a warm smile. He loved to tease and be teased in return.

Terrence was a sports fan. He enjoyed watching a good game. He followed his teams every season - Blue Jays baseball, Maple Leafs hockey, Toronto FC football (soccer), win, lose or draw.

Terrence is predeceased by his father Charles, his mother Mary, older brother Lloyd and his younger sister Joslyn.

Those who wish to remember him and celebrate him, please do so. Share your memories of him and stories with family and friends - he would like that.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Until we meet again.

Messages of Condolence

Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. My charismatic uncle Terry was well and truly loved by ALL his siblings, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Good times were had holidaying in Tobago at Bananaquit hotel, eating crab and dumplings, swimming at Store Bay and walking to Pigeon Point to swim some more and then eating homemade coconut icecream on the way back to the hotel. In Trinidad, he would stay at Joslyn's house - they would ole talk from the time they open their eyes till it was bedtime - laughing until mum was in fits of laughter, crying, unable to breathe. His favourite drink was a red Solo fizzy drink with his choice roti. Mum loved him dearly. We loved him and we miss him. ✝️

I had the privilege of knowing my father in law Terry for 33 years. The time I remember as best was the 4 summers he spent with me at my cottage. He had the patience of Job with my grandchildren . He would say ‘ you feed me’ and I’ll look after the kids . I loved cooking old fashioned home style fare for him which he enjoyed tremendously. He would always say I put too much on his plate but he promptly ate all. We would have long talks about life and in the evening we would all gather to watch a family movie together. William and Abagail miss their grandpa Terry . William especially had a great bond with him . There is and always will be a Grandpa Terry room at the cottage. Great memories that will stay in my heart forever. We will see each other again and I promise to make the carrot cake . BTW I baked one for your birthday. Love you !
