It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hendrika (Rita) Versluys on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Foothills Hospital. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Peter; daughter, Laura (Len) Nederlof; son Peter, (Nicole) Versluys; grandchildren, Stephanie (Matthew) Clark, Vanessa (Dillon) Adrain, Ethan, Arianna & Zachary Versluys, as well as great grandchildren Hayden, Taylor, Emerson, & Easton. She is also remembered by siblings, Susanna (Reg) Peters; John (Connie) Visser, Leo (Inga) Visser, Dennis (Penny) Visser, Martin Visser, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Jan & Tina Visser, of Westcott near Didsbury.
Rita loved spoiling her family with deals she found at estate sales, garage sales, & outlet malls. She spent many years as a unit clerk at the Didsbury Hospital, and upon retirement enjoyed travelling & camping with family & her dogs Jazz & Sophia. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 7 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 – 23 Street, Didsbury, AB at 1:00 pm. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 12:00-12:45pm.
