Hendrika (Rita) Versluys

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hendrika (Rita) Versluys on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Foothills Hospital. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Peter; daughter, Laura (Len) Nederlof; son Peter, (Nicole) Versluys; grandchildren, Stephanie (Matthew) Clark, Vanessa (Dillon) Adrain, Ethan, Arianna & Zachary Versluys, as well as great grandchildren Hayden, Taylor, Emerson, & Easton. She is also remembered by siblings, Susanna (Reg) Peters; John (Connie) Visser, Leo (Inga) Visser, Dennis (Penny) Visser, Martin Visser, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Jan & Tina Visser, of Westcott near Didsbury.

Rita loved spoiling her family with deals she found at estate sales, garage sales, & outlet malls. She spent many years as a unit clerk at the Didsbury Hospital, and upon retirement enjoyed travelling & camping with family & her dogs Jazz & Sophia. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 7 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 – 23 Street, Didsbury, AB at 1:00 pm. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 12:00-12:45pm. Interment to follow at the Wescott Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.1130F – 44 Ave. SE, Calgary, AB. T2G 4W6.
