Yvonne Adelin Verbitsky

Yvonne Verbitsky passed away surrounded by love at home on Friday, December 9, 2011 at the age of 70 years.

She will be missed by her loving husband Victor Verbitsky; two sons Alan and Michael (wife Crystal); grandchildren Michael and Cowan Bujarski as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was born in the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta. She graduated from Magrath High School and then attended the Galt School of Nursing, LMH 1962 and became a RN. Yvonne worked in Dauphin, Manitoba and at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. She then moved to smaller hospitals in Alberta until an illness forced her to stop nursing in 1989. Yvonne’s health continued to decline until her passing.

Services will be officiated by Reverend C. Fyfe.

I've known Yvonne ever since I taught Alan in school. That was a long time ago. She was so caring and helpful and did many extra things as a parent to make things run more smoothly. I realize she had lots of health issues even then and I'm so sorry. I appreciate all the extra hours she gave me as a teacher and her kindness. I am sure she will indeed be in a better place. Hello Victor and family, I have worked with Yvonne at Southland nursing home, I just want to extend my condolences to you and your family. Yvonne was a very caring person. She loves her family so much that during our visits,when she spoke about Alan,Michael and you Victor are always with endearment. I will always Yvonne as a compassionate and kind person. Vic, Alan and Michael Sending sincere condolences to you and your family. I read the news last week in the Edmonton Journal. I often wondered if you still lived in Edmonton, but had no way to contact you.The last time I saw you was in 2004 at Kevin's funeral, and that was just for a brief minute. I always enjoyed my visits with Yvonne. I remember Kevin and Michael together and the enjoyment their friendship brought to Kevin. Morris and I are enjoying our life together in Leduc. Thank you for the happy memories. Thank you Ms. Olsen for teaching me to read in the third grade. Your comments is exactly needed to read. This time every year scince her passing it feels like a hole in my life i cant every fill. She was everything, the very definition of selfless caring. She did so much for so many i dont think she ever got the proper props for all the caring she gave others. She said one time it makes her feel good helping other especially us kids.
