After leaving the community, she finished her Bachelor of Education and received a scholarship to complete her Masters at the University of Alberta.
She came to Calgary and taught at St. Francis & Bishop Carroll High Schools until retiring in 1986. She loved her students and to the end kept in touch with and was friends with many students having coached Volleyball and Debate with winning teams at the Provincial level.
In retirement she volunteered at Church and was active in Speech and Debate. She served as President of the Honorary Society of Canadian College of Teachers and loved her Golf at Pinebrook Golf Course and Bridge at many institutions.
