Timothy Bruce Hunter
June 10, 1962 – December 2, 2025
It is with mixed feelings that we announce the passing of Tim on December 2, 2025, after a short valiant fight with cancer. We are happy because we know where he is, but sad because he is no longer with us.
He is survived by his loving wife Joanne Glennie, his children, Julia(Steven), Tara(Sean), David(Lacey), William and his stepson, Stefan. He is also survived by his many grandchildren who always delighted him.
Tim is also survived by sisters; Margaret, Wendy, & Mary(Brian), who will miss his constant teasing and joking. With such a large family, there are also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as his many friends and Legion comrades.
He is predeceased by his father William Hunter, his mother Dorothy Olsen, his stepfather, Cliff Olsen and his beloved daughter, Patricia, plus siblings, Karen, Freddy and Bob.
Tim was the kind of person who made everyday brighter with his big cheerful personality. He will be remembered for his laughter, stupid jokes, his warmth and the amazing way he made everyone feel like they mattered.
Tim was a jack-of-all-trades and master of some, but he would always jump into problem solve no matter what the issue was. He loved camping, fishing, and cooking.
Tim’s mother taught all her children to have passion for serving others. His service took many forms, in the service of his God, his Country, and his Community. Some of the highlights include his years of service with St. Johns Ambulance, service to his country, and as a volunteer First Responder (serving for a time as a Volunteer Fire Chief in his community). Tim was a storyteller and a jokester, but he was at his VERY BEST when responding to emergencies. As a veteran he spent many years volunteering with the Royal Canadian Legion and volunteered as a leader with a Navy League Cadet corps. As a lifelong member of The Salvation Army, he was up to volunteering at any time and anywhere there was a need.
His family and friends will gather on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 am to Celebrate Tim’s life. The service will be held at The Salvation Army Regina Community Church at 2240 – 13th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3M7. The service will be officiated by Major Gord Taylor, Major Bruce MacKenzie, & Lieut Tim Fraser. Tim’s Celebration of Life Service will be livestreamed at youtube.com/@SalvationArmyRegina .
