Thomas (Teg) Grieve

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas (Teg) Grieve on Monday, August 31st, at the Fillmore Health Center at the age of 93.

Thomas leaves to mourn his passing, wife Karen and their 4 children:

Son Dylan; wife Tara Lee and their kids Stetson and Ky

Daughter Angel and partner Spencer

Son Brett and wife Hannah

Stepdaughter Deanna; husband Dan and children Cole (Alexis), Hannah (Dylan), Ryker and Ainsley

From his previous marriage he leaves:

Daughter Cindy; Husband Glen and their children Cassie and Georgia (Riley)

Daughter Lorena; Husband Jack and their children Nicole (Nathan) and Ryland (Gabby)

Son Scott; wife Brenda and their children Mandy (Pete) and Melissa (Ben)

Sister Shirley Lueck

As well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Thomas was born on March 29th, 1933, in Hardieville AB. He grew up on small acreage near Lethbridge.

He with his family moved to Fillmore in 1950, where he then finished grade 12. He went back to Lethbridge, where he obtained a commerce certificate and went to work at a brewery. Not long after he decided the farming life was best for him and back he came to Fillmore to farm with his dad and brother. Shortly after he started to raise his first family, Cindy, Lorena and Scott. As a farm family they took part in many community events, sporting activities and of course 4H and showing cattle!

In 1995 Tom and Karen met, and he gained stepdaughter Deanna then he and Karen had Son Dylan and adopted Angel and Brett. They continued with the 4H, sports and community events.

Tom was an avid ball player and curler; he played ball with the Fillmore Rockets for 53 years! He spent countless hours coaching and watching all his kids, grandkids and great grandkids play sports too.

Teg was a cattleman through and through. He spent his whole life raising, showing and fitting cattle, as well as serving on various breed associations and producer groups. Tom owned many cows in his day, but his favourite were Herefords and Charolais. He passed his love of cows down to his kids, who all showed in 4H and some in junior shows around Canada! He was also an exhibitor in Agribition for 51 years and loved every year more than the last!! In recent years, Tom couldn’t be out with the cattle, but he enjoyed touring the pastures in the truck, attending cattle sales in Candiac whenever he had the chance and enjoyed visits with his family while doing so!

Tom made countless friends wherever he went and would strike up a conversation with absolutely anyone! He will be missed by many, but we hope his new pasture has endless grass, a great group of cattle and a good dog!

A graveside service will be held on September 26th, 2026, at the Fillmore Cemetery at 3:00pm, everyone welcome. Please bring a chair if you so require.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at the farm North of Fillmore following the service. Everyone welcome for food, beverage and great conversation!
