Elma Tenchavez

Elma Tenchavez, the beloved wife of Dennis Tenchavez, was born in Cebu City, Philippines on November 3, 1964 and passed away at the age of 56 years in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada on May 19, 2021.

Elma was predeceased by her parents Dolores and Bruno Bulahan and her brother Junie. Her husband Dennis is left to cherish her memory along with their daughter Elden and granddaughter Zoe Arabella; daughter Denny Mae (VanJefford); three sons Dennis Sien (Shaira), Denniel (Jessah) and Dave John; her brother Nestor; her sisters Myrna, Rosalinda, Jocelyn, Merissa and Rose Marie; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Elma grew up and attended school and lived most of her life in Cebu City, Philippines. She took up Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of SanJose Recoletos. Elma married the love of her life Dennis on September 11, 1988. They were blessed with five wonderful children. Elma and Dennis would have celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary this summer.

Elma was a great mother, wife and grandma. She was the glue of the family. On every holiday or occasion, she was the one that would make plans to gather the family together. Aside from being a great person she always had a passion for helping. When she moved to Canada with her husband and her children in 2011 her only mission was to help her siblings back in the Philippines. She devoted her time and energy not only to her family but also to those people around her.

She was a very caring, happy person and she always wanted the best for everyone. Elma will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

I've known Elma since they got her in Canada. She is one of the funniest mom and a friend to all in the Bisdak Group in Regina. I always remember her laughs and giggles everytime theres a group gatherings. Everytime , we have a chance to talk during gatherings, she always mentioned her sons and daughters on how she loved them. She always says that eventhough through times of health problems, she says fight fight fight!!!......... And now her fight is over. R.I.P Elma. ~ Bulaklak

Elma, I will forever cherish the love and care you have for my mama whenever she got hospitalized . You would always call me and offer yourself to watch over her in the hospital. I truly appreciate and miss you for that. Thank you for your loyalty as a friend. You are like a family to us since in the Philippines. You've gone too soon but the memories you left behind is forever in our hearts. You will be greatly missed. May your beautiful soul rest in peace in Jesus Christ in Heaven. Amen! ~ Lynlin Mislang

To the family and friends: Elma, have been our rooted neighbours since we were in the Philippines. I can say that Elma is close to my heart an extended family 'cause almost everyday she is at home willing to help me in any kindness as far as I'm concerned. I treated her not any other person but close to our family. That's why we included them (family) to migrate here in Canada to have a better life. Since then she was always open up her problems and concerns in life to me. I consider her as a daughter specially when I was hospitalized. Your one who willingly offer to watch me in the hospital. That's why you are dear to me. Elma, i'm going to miss you a lot. Pero padayon sa imong paglakaw. May you rest in peace . I always pray for you! ~ Marlinda Mislang
