Ted William Holobetz
September 23, 2025
Ted Holobetz, who would have celebrated his 79th birthday on October 8, 2025 passed away peacefully at home as he had wished on September 23, 2025. A man of tireless hands, a generous heart, and a knack for all things mechanical, Ted lived a life defined by hard work, deep loyalty, and quiet acts of kindness.
Born in 1946, Ted spent his life doing what he loved most—working on engines of every shape and size, operating heavy equipment, and lending his time and talents to family projects, whether it was building something from scratch or helping landscape a yard. His mechanical know-how and strong work ethic were matched only by his willingness to help others.
In 1976, Ted married the love of his life, Lorraine “Lori” Kozakavich. Together, they shared 32 years filled with laughter, devotion, and the joy of raising a family. Lori preceded Ted in death in 2008, and not a day went by that she wasn’t held close in his heart.
Ted is survived by his two sons, Wes (Julie) and James; his beloved grandchildren: Allie (Jaxon), Dan, and Anika; and four cherished great-grandchildren: Blake, Nash, Braelyn, and Sully. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family and close friends, all of whom carry forward his legacy of generosity, perseverance, and love for working with one’s hands.
Ted’s memory will live on in the engines he repaired, the soil he turned, the buildings he helped raise—and most of all, in the hearts of the many people whose lives he touched.
The family asks that you honor Ted’s memory by lending a helping hand to someone in need, just as he so often did.
Rest easy, Ted. The work is done, and the tools are finally at rest.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Ted’s life will be held on Ted's birthday, October 8, at the Crown and Hand pub in Regina (6330 Dewdney Ave) between 4:00 and 8:00
