There are many things I could say and many ways I could describe Tanner, both good and bad, but the man I knew—the man I saw, the man who changed everyone's lives around him—he had the biggest heart of anyone else I've ever known. We had our differences, we had our disagreements, but he always listened. He always challenged us—always wanting to be the smartest guy in the room, but he always remembered to humble himself afterwards. He changed my life for the better. These past several years of friendship could fill a lifetime's worth with how many happy memories, offensive jokes, dad humour, and fun times we shared together. There were a lot of lows and a lot of tears throughout the years, but he was always a good shoulder to cry on. He inspired me. He taught me so many things. He was a true friend, right to the end. I will always remember him for that.

We last saw Tanner a few years ago during a visit to Balgonie. He was warm and welcoming just like the rest of his family. Today we share with the family both the grief of his loss and the celebration of his life. May all who knew Tanner find comfort in reflection of memories of him and acceptance of his peace at this time.

I met Tanner and shared with him for a short time, way shorter than what I would have liked. But in that time we became good friends, he welcomed me even tho I was the new guy in town, the new odd dude in the friend group, we connected and shared crazy ideas, controversial at times or marely chaotic, but that's who he was and he saw I had some of it too and he made damn sure to get it out of me at every chance. It is those memories I keep, it is those experiences that I treasure. I love you man, and can't give enough thanks for the times together.
