TALLMADGE, Arthur Clifford
April 11, 1934 – December 15, 2015

Arthur “Art” Clifford Tallmadge of Red Deer, AB passed away at Lacombe Long Term Care on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the age of 81 years. Art is lovingly remembered by his family; wife, Charlene Genovese, of 27 years; son, Mike (Karen) Tallmadge; sister, Norma (Jack) Leibham; nieces, Jackie, Leanne and Paula (Mark); great nieces, Nicole, Taylor, Shelby, Reagan and Riley; and great nephew, Jacob.

Art experienced a unique work history, from custodian to boiler operator at KSSH, chief steward at the Kelowna Yacht Club, to a lengthy career in the oil patch, finally retiring in 2008. His church was the great outdoors and he thrived on his hunting, fishing and camping adventures. He was particularly passionate of his 22 years spent in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he made many wonderful friends and memories. Art was a visionary and a multitude of puttering skills captured his imagination. Stoic and resilient were the qualities that Art exhibited throughout his health issues, which he did not allow to compromise his quality of life. His sense of humor and infectious laughter resounded in his strength of “Living Life Large”.

A Celebration of Art’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch# 35, 2810 Bremner Ave, Red Deer, AB on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Art’s memory may be made to:

We were so sorry to learn of Arts passing. We have many memories of him from our days and life at Headwaters and the snowmobiling we did together, and the many happy hours we had. I remember particularly ice fishing on Boland lake with him. He loved the outdoors. He will be missed. Our thoughts and sympathies go out to you, MIchael and the family.

Art was just enough older than me so that I didn't attend the Talmage one-room school with him but knew him through his participation in community activities. When he was studying in high school in Weyburn he ushered part time at the Hi-Art Theatre and would always make sure to look after us young lads from Talmage and give us special attention when we attended the Saturday matinees. We loved to call out "Hi Art" in the Hi-Art and get a big wave and a big smile from him. Art was in Mom's first school class grades 1-8 in Talmage in 1939...to see the class picture with names google: Hertha McRae (Schwandt) Talmage. My condolences to the Tallmadge family. Roger McRae
