Don Stratilo, late of Regina, SK passed away on November 19, 2019 after a life well-lived, surrounded by his family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Rosemary, of 53 years; his daughter Lisa Stratilo-Campbell (Rick) and son Chad Stratilo (Angela). He was extremely proud of his three grandchildren Evan, Aden and Ava Campbell. He is survived by his brothers-in-law Jim Grill (Gloria), Francis Grill (Lois) and Rand Grill (Trudy); his brother John; his sister Helen and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Brent (in infancy) and parents Bill and Annie Stratilo.
Don was born on December 9, 1940 in Shaunavon, SK. He was a gifted athlete in his youth. Don loved sports and a game well-played, especially hockey, football and bridge. He enjoyed a long career of almost 35 years at SaskPower. After retiring in 1995 he focused fully on his volunteer activities. Don believed that the community you wanted was yours to build. This led him to volunteer for numerous community organizations, especially within his parish. In recognition of his years of community involvement he received the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal for outstanding achievement in volunteer service.
He had many friends from all walks of life that he valued greatly. He was held in high esteem and well-respected by those who knew him best. A special thanks to friends Marge and Louis Fedyk.
His family is proud of the life he lived, especially through the challenges of his last years, and the legacy that he leaves behind.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 100 Argyle Street N., Regina, SK.
