SOROKA, Dale

Dale Lloyd Soroka was called home on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the age of 55 years. Dale is lovingly remembered by his family; wife, Wendy of 27 years; daughters, Candace (Mitch) Banks, Nicole Soroka (Gerad), Kaytlynn Soroka (Travis); and 2 granddaughters, Laryssa & Kiera Banks that he adored. He will also be dearly missed by his mother, Miriam Dreher; mother-in-law, Cheryl (Bear) Roy; sisters, Joy (Steve) Suitor, Judy (Lyall) Soroka and many nieces and nephews who loved him deeply. Dale was predeceased by his father, Julian Soroka in 1983. A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held at Airdrie Alliance Church, 1604 Summerfield Boulevard on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dale’s memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #200, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6.

Messages of Condolence

I cried upon hearing of Dale's passing. I was fortunate to have him as an aisle mate at Depot 16 as he was a very considerate co-worker. One of my fondest memories took place on one of coldest winter days ever. I was wearing long underwear, pants, quilted pants and topped off with a variety of thermal shirts and sweaters all tucked into my wind pants. I resembled the Michelin man. I turned to Dale and asked him: "Do these pants make my butt look fat?" He dryly replied: "No dear you look lovely." I smile at the memory of his quick dry wit. He will be missed. Carol Kounadis

Please accept my condolences. I didnt know Dale too well however I worked with him on many occasions. He came in and did such a good job. I know he will be missed by so many colleagues as well.

Words are inadequate to express the sorrow of the great loss you must be feeling. My heart and prayers have been and are with you all. I did not know Dale or your family personally, but being a cousin to Miriam and in contact with her, I have gotten to know something of Dale and his life. From what I do know, I would say he was a wonderful, caring man and his passing will leave an incredible hole in your lives. He will remain in your hearts always. My love to all of you.

I met Dale a couple of times and just recently got to spend a evening with Dale and Wendy at the Phillip Phillips concert and we all had a great time!
