Larry James Snowdy passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018. He leaves behind his wife and best friend Heather; sons Alan (Steph) and Paul; daughter Carolyn (Scott) and the apples of his eye Emily, Georgia, and Ryan, Carolyn and Scott’s children. Larry was a brother to Jean Carlson and Joyce (Garry) West. He was also an uncle to several nieces and nephews but special Uncle Larry to Anita Carlson and son Tristan and Shelly Okabe and daughter Jordan. Larry spent most of his working life as an electrician at the Regina General Hospital and he held the relationship to his co-workers close.
Larry was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan to parents Bill and Elizabeth Snowdy. Although he and Heather travelled the country and to many other countries, he was a prairie boy to the core and said mountains just got in the way of the view. He loved the Qu’Appelle Valley and his true home was the cottage at Katepwa where he stayed from early spring until freeze up. He enjoyed golf but more than the game he enjoyed the time spent with fellow golfers.
Larry was a life-long Rider fan and faithful follower of the Raptors and Blue Jays. He was fussy about and proud of the lawn and gardens at the lake; a scotch or cold beer on the deck surveying these was peace to him.
Larry never hesitated to tackle a problem or lend a hand. He was always ready to see the best in a person and he loved his family and friends. He recently told Heather he had no regrets about his life and when he learned about his cancer he said “Well it is what it is, we’ll deal with it.”
We will gather to share stories and remember Larry on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Tony Roma's Restaurant, 4450 Albert Street, Regina, SK from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Soul’s Harbour Mission.
