Stanley Gordon Smith

SMITH, Stanley Gordon passed away at the Brooks Community Health Centre on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the age of 58 years following a valiant struggle with cancer. “Stan the Man” will be lovingly and eternally remembered by his mother, Millie (Eric); brothers Rodney (Melissa), Eric Jr. (Eleanor) and Mike along with his nieces and nephews.  Stan was predeceased by his father, Jack Smith. Stanley spent most of his adult life in Calgary working for Byers Transportation, where he developed friendships and great memories that comforted him for the rest of his years. Special gratitude is extended to all who cared for and about Stan over his final years including the compassionate teams at Orchard Manor in Brooks, The Tom Baker Clinic, Brooks Community Health Centre and especially to all of the Social Workers at Alberta Health Services for their exceptional work on his behalf. The family also wishes to thank all of Stan’s many friends in the Strathmore area where he resided for a number of years. A public service will not be held. Memorial donations in Stan’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
