Wsevolod Andrew Shpytkovsky

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Wsevolod Andrew Shpytkovsky on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the age of 93. He was loved by his 5 children Tania, Daria (Stephen), Lydia, Andy (Lecia) and Greg (Susan), his 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was born on January 7, 1925 in Lviv, Ukraine and worked in the newspaper business in Canada for over 40 years. Since coming to Calgary he was an active member of both the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Stephen Ukrainian Catholic parishes. He was well known for his beautiful tenor voice and sang in the church choir as well as in the Calgary Philharmonic Choir. He loved to sing and sang at many weddings giving joy to so many people. Tato, Dido, Pra-Dido and Pop you will be sadly missed. Now you are “Singing in God’s choir.” God Bless.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be put to a charity of their choosing in his honour. The family would like to thank everyone who looked after him at Foothills Hospital in Units 44 and 54 in McCaig Tower with such patience, respect and caring including Dr. Thomas, Nicole and Dr. Workun.

A Prayer Service will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 704 - 6 St NE, Calgary, Alberta on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 7:00pm.

Funeral Services will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:00 am.
