Messages of Condolence

I'm saddened to learn of John's passing. He was the first friend I ever had, way back in grade 1. I have so many wonderful memories of us ice-fishing with his grandpa, driving around in the 'gutless Cutlas', working together at Mills Haven Mohawk, and enjoying the Sheplawy family (Ron, Doris, Lori, and cousins Kelvin and his sister - apologies as I cannot remember her name). John was so well-liked by my family even my siblings that hadn't met him remember hearing about this fun-loving guy that endeared himself to my mom by calling her 'Farmer'. He came up with the phrase 'bald-haired' for which we all laughed. So funny! May he rest in eternal peace knowing many adored him and valued him as a friend. With much love, Elaine ~ Elaine Benoit

Our family is so saddened by the news of John's passing. We have known him for probably over 30 years. He used to help my brother Dave Smith out at the race track, he's gone on racing trips with him and he has worked for our family business. Always a smile for everyone, just a lovely person. If you could please let us know when there will be a service we would appreciate it, as would like to pay our respects. Our sincere condolences. The Smith and Srahulek families ~ Shelley Srahulek

I was sad and surprised to see John's obit in the paper yesterday. Even though I never met John, I followed his life through talking with his Aunt Dorene who has been my best friend since we were kids in Lindbergh. My heart goes out to Ron and the family. It's been ages since I've seen you Ron...take care of yourself. Your son sounds like a great guy. ~ Bonnie Thomas (Hoard)
