Born in London in 1925, Don passed away in Coquitlam BC in the early hours of July 22, 2023, at 98 years of age.

He was a Veteran of the RAF, having served from 1944-47. Don emigrated to Canada in 1956 and had a long career working as an electrician. He was a long-time member of the IBEW. He had many interests, including building and renovations, music of all kinds, as well as being an avid reader and model train enthusiast. Don was the youngest of 4 children. He is predeceased by brothers Frank and Jack and sister Grace.

He is survived by nieces/nephew Jacqueline Pompe van Meerdervoort, Carole Searle, Richard Searle, Melodie Hartmann, (Cape Town RSA) Yvonne Morgan (Aukland NZ) and Patricia Groves (USA) and their families.

At Don’s request there will be no service. He will be laid to rest at Fraser Cemetery in New Westminster.

Messages of Condolence

I was very fortunate to have spent some time getting to know Uncle Donnie on my visits to his home in Vancouver a few times over the years and going down with him to his local pub for a couple of beers. He was a good uncle always remembering our family birthdays mine as well as my children, Caroline and Kyle. It was a tradition of his to send birthday cards with a money order included also at Christmas time which was greatly welcomed by us up to the age of 18 which was his cut-off age. He will be remembered fondly by us rest in peace.
