February 27, 2012

Beverly Schofield

Bev was born and grew up in Alliance, Alberta.  In the 60’s he travelled to the North West Territories where he was employed at Ft. McMurray and Pine Point.  Later years were spent in and around Calgary, retiring to Carstairs in 2003.

Bev is lovingly remembered by his partner and best friend of 32 years, Cathy McKay.

He loved to travel and camp.  Two trips to Eastern Canada was a highlight.

He is predeceased by his parents Bob and Lillian Schofield, his brother Keith and his sister Sharon Nygaard.  Bev leaves in his passing Cathy, along with his 4 sisters; Ann, Barbara Costigan, Helen (Jim) Reid of Airdrie and Adair Forsythe of Crossfield, his extended family in Nova Scotia as well as many numerous nieces and nephews.

At his request there is no funeral.  A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.

A thank you to those who cared for him during his illness.

If friends may desire memorial tributes may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta T2N 4N2 or a charity of one’s choice.

Messages of condolence may be left for the family.
