My heart felt condolences goes out to Ashley, beautiful baby girl Erica, Kathy Schmidt and family. The news with Paul still really bothers me right now. I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose someone who touched everyone’s lives. I have heard nothing but absolute great things about Paul through my dad as my dad being a Transit Bus Driver told me that Paul, Ashley and Erica were his regulars on the transit bus. My dad also mentioned how much of a nice person Paul was. I wished I had met Paul and see what my dad had seen in him. From what I can see is that Paul is so brave to protect his beautiful wife and adorable daughter. Ashley, keep your head held high and be extra strong for Erica. She needs you a lot now more than ever. I wish I was there right now to go to the amazing services that was put up for Paul. I also wish I can give you a really big hug and meet your beautiful daughter. When I do go back to the lower mainland, I will promise to keep you in mind and hopefully we can catch up like old times and have our kids meet one another for a play date or something. Every single day you all have been in my mind and prayers and I hope you all get the Justice you all deserve from this tragic loss. Always know and remember the good times you had with Paul and that it’s not a goodbye, but see you soon. There are no words that can describe my sincerest condolences, It just was not fair! I pray that you can find some peace and comfort with Russ in the days ahead. I was good friends with Paul and I'll miss him . Rest easy homie . Some of my fondest memories out of so many we made were. - I use to live by Paul and Ashley and Paul would come over to hang out and I'm an outdoor person so I'd go on walks to get out of the house and Paul would always come with me so I wasn't alone and on those walks tell me all the plants and things we would see what we could eat or use in different ways as well as stories about Erika. - one time in my house I lived in there was a giant spider I'm talking the size of my hand I was ready to burn down the house lol n Paul no fear saved me didn't kill it caught it and walked down the street to release it and told me it meant us no harm and deserved a life just like us. So many more I'd be writing for hours . Walks with you late at night Laughs & Memories Your smile so bright Swimming in water so cold Sushi dates Listening to stories you told Lucky enough to call you friend Not ready to say goodbye This shouldn't be the end Accepting is the hardest part Rest easy homie You'll always be in our heart

Sending condolences to the family. This is very tragic. I'm so sorry. Paul was a wonderful father and husband to Erica and Ashley. He was always taking Erica to the park and play grounds. He would share pictures on line with his family and friends. Also pictures of interesting sights around town. They we’re well done. As that special spirit continues in your beautifully daughter, Ashley and Kathy will forever see you Paul. Each new phase and journey that Erica takes will be a reminder of those precious moments she had with her Daddy. Such love never dies. I felt that you were not far away from us as we watched Erica playing on the floor with her grandpa, as they blew paper hearts between themselves. There was so much love
