Liane Schaefer passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the age of 77.
Her life was devoted to her family, supporting her community and care giving through fostering children, home care or one on one personalized care in her own home. Every child that entered her home was loved deeply and an important part of her family. She was blessed to share her journeys, ups and downs, with her soulmate and love of her life, Neil.
She wished to thank the following for their care and heart while helping her: Jaymie and Lindsey from Home Care, the palliative team, the staff at the Carstairs Pharmasave (Connie, Brenda and Wade), Barb at the library, Bonnie and the Carstairs Co-Op staff that took such care with her grocery deliveries, Dr. Olive Usher and the Carstairs Fire and Ambulance (many times over).
Her final words were of love to those that will continue to hold her close to their hearts: Her husband of 56 years, Neil; her daughter, Amy; her grandchildren, Alexandra and Steven; and her siblings, Peter, Marny and Jon.
