It is with profound sadness that the family of Aaron Schaefer announce his passing on September 29, 2012 after a courageous 18 month battle with brain cancer. Aaron passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side. Aaron will be lovingly remembered by his long-time partner Jody Shouldice and her daughter Kyla, parents Richard Schaefer and Alma Clark, sister Adrienne Schaefer (Richard Tremblay), nieces Sarah and Leah, and his nana Margaret Clark. He will also be lovingly remembered by many other extended family members and close friends. Aaron was born and raised in Calgary, graduating with honours from SAIT's Business Administration program in 1995. He began his accounting career in the oil and gas field in 1997 and continued working in this area until his diagnosis in 2011. He enjoyed many sports-related activities, having participated in slo pitch, hockey, golf, auto racing, and attending many Calgary Flames games over the years. Aaron also had a passion for aviation and was able to attend one final airshow in Whitecourt, AB in July. He was a very kind, gentle and generous man, supporting many local charities and sponsoring 2 children through World Vision. The family would like to thank the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Palliative Home Care Team for their support and care. At Aaron's request, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Aaron's memory to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada at
