Lawrence Edwin Sayer

It is with great sadness, we say good bye to our Papa, Dad, Brother and Husband, Lawrence Edwin Sayer passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the age of 77.

Lorne was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1943. His life was filled with adventure and took him around the world and in 2001 he chose to call Didsbury Alberta his home. Lorne’s passion for the outdoors, hunting, and winning at cards was shared with his family and friends.

Lorne was a devoted husband to his wife, Linda; caring brother to Kathleen; proud father to Shayne (Margaret), Joey (Valentin), Maury (Jodie) and Devra. Most of all, Lorne was an amazing Papa to his eight grandchildren Kandra (Dustin), Maurgan, Christopher, Mikahla, Maddie, Brayden, Meagan, and Alex. He was blessed with three great grandchildren Leland, Maverick, and Rogue with number four expected in November.

Lorne is predeceased by his parents, Fran and Leslie; his brother, Jaime; his brother-in-law, Peter; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Sean.

Lorne will be dearly missed but not forgotten by those who had the privilege to know him.

I will miss Lawrence as he taught me and we used to play cribbage at Olds College. He was also a fellow co-worker @ Olds College from 2012-2017. My deepest sympathies to the Sayer family.

I met Lorne when I was 17. He was the much older brother of the love of my life. He was my “out law brother”. Broke the mould, no doubt. So glad our paths crossed for 20 or so years. Love to you Lorne, and Linda and your family.
