Laura Romeyn

Laura was born in New Westminster at Saint Mary’s Hospital on January 29th, 1958. She was the youngest child of Clayton and Marguerite Davies and youngest sister of Darlene, Tom and Ron.

Laura and Al met 50 years ago at the age of 13 for a youth weekend camp right here on this property which at the time was known as Springcrest. They stayed good friends until they started dating at age 18 in 1978. Two and a half years later they were married on February 28th, 1981 and enjoyed 41 years of a very loving marriage and friendship.

In January 1985, Christine was added to the family. Laura was sooo excited to be a mother and loved her so much. In March 1988, Shannon joined this very happy family and Laura fell in love again.

Starting in 2010 to 2015 she was blessed with her four grandchildren Colton, Landon, Alma and Brooke. This is where the words ‘Fierce Love’ have been mentioned over and over. There was nothing she would not have done for her grandchildren.

Laura, Mom, Auntie, Grandma we are going to miss you so much, but we do know that we will see you again and we know that you are at peace and very happy in the arms of your Savior.

Messages of Condolence

Jackie and I had such an amazing opportunity to spend the Day with Al and Laura in Mazatlán while on a cruise, just 2 days before she passed. She was so full of life, as she always was. So excited to show us their condo and the surrounding neighborhood. We had a fantastic lunch with them before returning to the ship to finish our cruise. We were shocked and saddened of the news. Seeing my big brother hurting hurt me more than imaginable. We will miss her as a sister (in law), an amazing hostess, a friend and a big part of our family. We keep you in our prayers daily. What a beautiful service for an AMAZING lady. All the talk about “Fierce Love” is true. As Shannon’s softball coach for like forever, I saw the love for her family, throughout the years, first hand. I always encouraged the parents to stay at the park and not just drop off their child at the park. No need to tell Laura she was always there cheering on Shannon. Of course it was heaven if both daughters were playing at the same ball park, that way both Al and Laura could watch both girls games. But of course the best times were the Out of Town tournaments, not only for the kids but for the parents as well. Laura you will be sadly missed by all. Shannon, Christine and Al, please know that you are in Lee-Ann’s and my hearts in these hard times. Love you all

Hi Al, Christine, Shannon and family. I was able to attend the service at TKCC today. You guys did a splendid job of expressing your love for Laura/Mom and giving us many glimpses into her life and the way she communicated love. She will be missed by many. Linda and I have fond memories of Laura's gentleness and warm hospitality expressed towards us and so many others. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. May His Peace be with you. Ralph and Linda
