Ann passed away
peacefully on February 28, 2012 in Calgary.
Ann and her twin sister Carol
Nistor (Alec) were a big
surprise as twins were not expected and it was the middle of the Depression.
Their arrival brought the family
children to five, having a sister Lynn Teeling (Jim) and brothers Bob (Bernice)
and Ron (Karen) whom Ann adored. Their parents were Agnes and Barsby Martin who
had the General Store, insurance company and post office in DeWinton. Ann’s career
was in banking where she started with the Alberta Treasury Branches, then spent
two years at the Bishop Bank in Hawaii. Returning to Canada, Ann worked at the
Royal Bank in Victoria then transferred back to Calgary. On May 12, 1962 she
married Joe Robinson, a man who loved her deeply. Together they had a home in Calgary and a farm at Rocky Mtn
House. Many hours were spent enjoying these properties and life.
Ann is
lovingly remembered by her daughter Lori ,
her husband Chris Tough and their two sons Liam and Sean, as well as
numerous beloved nieces, nephews and
other family members and friends whose
company she always enjoyed.
Ann’s family would like to thank the staff of the
Cedars Villa.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society, 201, 222
– 58 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta T2H 2S3 would be appreciated.
We will be having a Private Family Service at
a later date.
