George was born in Hackney, East London, in August 1934. He was the eldest of three children. He spent his childhood and teenage years in Hackney, before leaving to do his National service in the Air Force.
During this time, he met Patricia, who he married in 1955. They had four children; Alison, Geraldine, Paul, and John.
The family moved to Canada in 1973, and started a new life in Richmond, B.C. For most of his life in Richmond, George was involved in coaching soccer, where he formed many life long friendships.
George was passionate about music and was a huge fan of jazz from a young age. Family was everything to George. He was a devoted husband to Patricia, who sadly predeceased him in 2011.
He was incredibly proud of his four children and their spouses, ten grandchildren, and twelve
great-grandchildren. George’s legacy will live on in them.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday July 20th from 2-5pm, at O’Hares Pub in Richmond.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in George’s name to kidsportcanada.ca or heartstroke.ca.
