Bob was born in Victoria, BC on April 28, 1943.
His father Douglas was serving in WW2,
His mother Gladys and His sister Lorraine
were living with family in Victoria.
Bob liked to remind us all he was born
3 months early and weighed 3 LBS.
In his early childhood his father became
a travelling salesman to hardware stores all over BC.
He grew up between Nelson and Nanaimo,
met and married his wife, Trudy.
They started out in Surrey, welcomed their son Douglas,
while he was working at the Co-op in Cloverdale.
His mother passed away in the late 70’s.
Throughout the 80’s He was the
building supplies department manager
at the Otter Co-op in Langley.
In the 90’s they bought their Walnut Grove townhouse
while he was working at Builders World.
He finished his career in sales at King of Floors.
Doug and Jennifer married in 2003, his granddaughter was born in 2008.
His father and sister Lorraine passed away in February
and May of 2011. His grandson was born in 2011.
In 2015 when they were living in Walnut Grove, his wife Trudy passed away.
In 2018 he sold his townhouse and moved to a condo,
he loved living there and developed strong friendships,
he grew his tomatoes, strawberries, and his roses.
He enjoyed many fishing trips and
travels to Vancouver Island to visit his extended family.
He sold his condo and moved
into the Renaissance Independent Living.
He enjoyed living there, and made some wonderful friends
before he entered the Langley hospital in July.
Bob loved nature, the outdoors, and especially being by the water
which reminded him of his childhood growing up on Vancouver Island.
He was a kind man, who lived a simple life.
He liked gardening, and a strong love for Western TV shows like Gunsmoke and Bonanza.
Bob was a man who could talk to anyone, had an easygoing sense of humour
and a kind, humble personality.
He is loved and greatly missed by his Son Doug, his daughter in law Jennifer & grandchildren
Sarah and Connor, extended family and close friends.
We will forever be grateful to all of those who loved him.
Our family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Langley Senior Helpers,
the Renaissance staff, and the safecare home support staff.
We would like to thank the nurses, doctors & staff at Langley Memorial Hospital
who took care of him for the remaining 2 months of his life.

Bob absolutely loved hamburgers, particularly The Legendary with fries (and gravy) from White Spot & The Original with fries from White Spot Triple O’s.
So, in Lieu of flowers our family and friends as for you to simply think of Bob whenever you have a burger #burgersforbob
