Elinor was born in Regina, SK and met Joe at the wedding of mutual friends, where they stood up for them and then they were married in 1954. Elinor and Joe farmed the homestead north of Craven and then moved to the valley between Lumsden and Craven in 1969 to their new home where Joe successfully ran a cattle and grain farm until he passed. Mom was the homemaker. We never wanted for anything and it was a great life. Elinor moved off the farm to her condo in Regina after being widowed, and lived there for 23 years before serious health issues forced her into Level 4 care in Pioneer Village and then Sunset Extendicare during the past five and a half years. The lock downs and isolation of covid restrictions over the past 2 years took their toll. She was fiesty and a fighter and overcame much illness time and time again. Elinor wanted to go Home to Heaven to be with her departed loved ones but also didn't want to leave us behind. She loved music and singing and was singing up until her last days.
Elinor will be laid to rest with Joe, Cindy and Jonathan and other members of the Ries family in the Longlaketon Cemetery in the late spring or early summer of 2022. Thank you for your prayers.
