Wesley Dean Reavley, of Balgonie, SK., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the age of 73 years.
He was predeceased by his mother Ivy Reavley, brother Barry Reavley, sister Bernice Edmonds, and sister-in-law Jan Reavley.
Wes will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 50 years Michelle, his son Theodore “Ted” (Lisa), daughter Jodi (Mark) and his guiding light and only grandson Gibson Wesley Reavley. Gibber knows that Papa, his biggest fan, will always be his angel on his shoulder.
He is also survived by his sister Donna Rodgers, and brothers Elliott (Joyce), Ron and twin brother Howard, sister-in-law Marilyn “Mert” Reavley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His devotion and kindness to others was experienced by many, especially by Devon, who was like a son to him.
Wes’ greatest joys were family trips, his flower gardens, his pets, coaching baseball and hockey in Balgonie and watching sports, especially his beloved Riders. He always brought a smile to everyone he knew with his unique sense of humor, his stories, and his singing (everyone will remember his Amazing Grace). He always had an open door policy where everyone was welcome in his home any time, day or night.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 1:30 pm in Argyle Baptist Church, 3514 Argyle Road, Regina, SK. with Rev. Ron Phillips officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dolata and the amazing nurses in Chemotherapy as well as Dr. Ferguson and the rest of the nursing staff who cared for Wes at the Pasqua Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in his memory to Skate4Smiles (www.skate4smiles.webs.com).
