Christine Anne Poulin

Christine passed away peacefully January 8, 2013 in the Langley Hospice at the age of 53 with her devoted husband at her side. She will be greatly missed by her husband Don MacLeod and sons Alexander (14) and Nicholas (9) as well as her many friends and relations on both coasts.

Christine was born and raised in Ottawa, daughter of Orville Poulin and Joanne Frodsham; sister of Gregory and Peter. Christine completed her BEng from Carleton University class of 1982 and practiced as a Mechanical Engineer for 30 years.

In Christine’s own words: “The years following my diagnosis were some of the most meaningful and rewarding times of my life.”

A Celebration of Christine’s life will be held Friday January 18, 2013, from 5pm to 7pm at the Fort Langley Community Hall, 9167 Glover Road, Fort Langley, BC. Children are most welcome. There will be interactive displays of Christine’s many and varied interests.

Being next door neighbours we saw Christine courageously face the future. Dan, Alex and Nicholas, the last few years have been tough for you; but you built some wonderful memories with your wife and mother. We have seen many pictures of your many trips taken. We will miss Christine. But she left us many wonderful memories. She always had a smile for us as we greeted each other almost every day. I knew Christine as a member of the Murrayville Library Bookclub. I enjoyed her leadership during discussions, her gentle humour and intelligent insights. She often spoke of her children with great affection. She was so brave, and I will miss her, but my life is richer for her presence in it. My best to you all.

We are so sorry for the loss of our friend and neighbor. I personally will miss the many heartfelt chats Christine and I have had on each others front lawns. Though our conversation were often deep and varied, the common theme of pride and love toward the 3 men in her life was ever so present (Don, Alex & Nick). Christine sure knew a lot about every topic we covered and I soon came to realize she was one very bright lady! It has been very heart-warming to see how devoted Don has been to Christine...she was truly blessed.
