Sharon Poteet

POTEET, Sharon (nee Hagen)
May 29, 1955 – December 5, 2017

Sharon was born in Flin Flon, MB to Ole and Connie Hagen. She resided in Red Deer since 1967 and enjoyed her time working at the Michener Centre. She enjoyed life and always tried to see the positive; never complaining about her pain or problems. She was always willing to offer advice and encouragement to others in need. One of her greatest joys was cooking and hosting her friends and family at BBQs, birthdays and “just because” events, and her humor and laughter were contagious. She was baptized in recent months and looked forward to seeing her loved ones once again. Left behind to mourn her are her mom, Connie; sister, Terry (Norm) MacDonald; brother, Aaron (Tricia) and their children, Caitlyn, Nicole (Zack) and Nathan; daughter, Cindy; grandchildren, Kailey, Justin (Virginia); great grandson, Preston and stepson, Terry and his family. She was predeceased by her father, Ole. As per Sharon’s wishes, there will be no public remembrance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to her greatest love, animals through the Humane Society or the Kidney Foundation or Cancer Society.

I was saddened to read of Sharon's recent passing. Many years ago (in the mid 70s) I lived across the hall from Sharon in Plaza Apartments and we worked together at Michener Centre. I remember her as a lovely person with a great sense of humor. My condolences to her Family and Friends. ~ Sandy Baker Bruhn

"May God's love heal your sorrow and may His peace replace your heartache with warm and loving memories." I hadn't been in recent contact with Sharon but she would often come to thought over the years. She and I had a lovely trip to the Bahamas and Florida a long time ago. She was a wonderful, giving woman. ~ Aileen & Chris Salomons
