Wayne Richard Piett

It is with great sadness we announce, Wayne Richard Piett, 66 years old, of Regina Sakatchewan, passed away quietly with family by his side after a short battle with cancer, on Tuesday June 11, 2024.

Wayne is predeceased by his father Stanley Piett and mother Alice Levadnuk - Piett. Wayne is survived by daughters, Raylene Johnson(Barry) and Desiree Ellchuk and their children. He is also survived by brothers, Garry Piett(Carol) and Kenny Piett(Brenda); and sister Beverly Little(Calvin). He will also be missed by numerous aunt's, uncle's, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Wayne was born in Neepawa MB on February 26, 1958 were he stayed until he was a young adult. He spent some time in Brandon before he moved to Regina where he started his career with Shaw Pipeline and worked for 30 years before it closed its doors in 2020. He remained in Regina until his passing. Wayne created a second family in Regina that involved numerous friends through his work and way of life.

Wayne was very outgoing and once you got to know him, he became less intimidating and would do anything to help you. He enjoyed building model cars and watching sports on TV especially his Maple Leafs and Blue Jay's. He loved going for Tim's coffee and sitting in the parking lot drinking it. He enjoyed time with his friends and the occasional road trip to Manitoba to visit family.

Wayne will be sadly missed and the family is moved by all the outpouring of condolences and help we have received during this time. We would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to Pasqua Hospital 3B and Grace Hospice for all the compassion, understanding and care they provided to Wayne in his final months of life.

Celebrations of Wayne's life will be held in Regina Sk and Neepawa MB.

Regina Service will be held Saturday June 22 2024 @ Whitmore Park Community Church @ 41 Birchwood Rd. from 2pm - 4pm. This will include a lunch and a time of Remembrance. Wayne will make his final trip home and be laid to rest with his mom in Neepawa MB.

Neepawa Service will be Thursday July 4 2024 commencing @ 1pm @ Riverside Cemetery on Smith Dr. for ceremony and burial. The family invites everyone to join them at the Arts Forward Center 293 Mountian Ave following the ceremony for lunch and a time of remembrance and reflection.

I met Wayne in the early 1980's in the big town of Neepawa. We had all kinds of fun that unfortunately involved some alcohol. However, we both seemed to grow out of that phase of our life. But our wild days sure provided plenty of stories, good and bad, but none the less we did them together. Both Wayne and I followed Barney (Wayne Griffiths, also from Neepawa) to Regina in 1990. Fortunately, for both of us, we were able to secure a good job with Shaw Pipe, and we worked there until March of 2020. I sure will miss our coffee times at Tim Hortons, and even my daughter Mika remembers coffees with "Uncle" Wayne. Wayne was a very talented painter, and came to Marie and my rescue on several painting projects. He always said that Bill leaned into the paint roller too hard. Wayne you surely will be missed by our family! Thank you for all the memories.

I meet this guy back almost 10 years ago start talk through Facebook then I ended up moving to Regina he was on my first Friend in Regina Saskatchewan when I moved he was always such a happy man he always had a comment for anything no matter what it was.. I'm so sad as I just found out you passed away... I will always remember you you where my best friend and even now your gone i want you to know you'll always be my friend until we meet again make sure u meet at then gates when my number is called...

Oh my God I am so shocked to hear this. Me and Wayne used to date for six years we were together and then we decided to go our own ways. I still cared lots of Wayne then 2000 we got in contact with each other again talked for a little bit and he told me he quit drinking, which I was so proud of him. She told me he was laid off at Shaw My condolence goes out to his family and his daughters. I am so sorry it breaks my heart rest in peace Wayne.

So sad to learn of Wayne's passing. I met his family in 1960 when I moved three doors down from his family. I knew all the kids as we played together. My life took me to the other side of the world but when I think of Neepawa, I think of the Piett family and hope they are doing well. They deserve to. RIP Wayne
