Thelma Vera Pickard 1945 – 2023

The family of Thelma Vera Pickard is saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

Thelma loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her grandsons. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and special occasions. She was a very outgoing and friendly person, and she enjoyed visiting and playing games with friends. Thelma spent most of her career working at the Pasqua Hospital, where she took great pride in her work. She was especially proud of her time working on the Palliative Care unit, where her coworkers became lifelong friends.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and staff on the Oncology and Palliative Care units at the Pasqua Hospital, for the incredible care and support received.

At Thelma’s request, there will be no funeral service.

How saddened I am to hear of Thelma's death and I send my sincere sympathy. As Manager of the Palliative Care Volunteer Program I would see Thelma everyday on 3A Pasqua. We shared a lot of laughs, sorrows, and a friendship that lasted after she retired. Though we did not see each other very often, we would talk on the phone. Unfortunately, her retirement was not what it should have been due to her health issues but she persevered. I think of her often and know she is very much missed.
